Psychosocial assistance can be provided individually and in groups. It involves talking through problems and looking together for solutions best sited for an individual by providing information to on how to access medical and/or social support services. In Algeria several non-governmental and international organizations are working in direct contact with migrants and asylum seekers to provide psychological assistance services. The Algerian Red Crescent (CRA) has put in place programmes to deal with the worst psychological effects of the violence on women, children and others.

Similar services are also available to Algerian returnees to facilitate their reintegration once they are back in Algeria.
