The National Agency for the Management of Microcredit (ANGEM) main mission is to alleviate poverty by providing microcredit to poor people. By actively promoting employment creation, ‘microcredit is used as an instrument to fight unemployment, alleviate poverty and social exclusion’ and gradually eliminate the informal economy. Microcredit services are mostly available to citizens of Algeria and Algerian returnees.
