IOM in Algeria carries out family tracing and assessments in the origin country or in the country of residence of the family, to provide a set of information to support suitable integration perspectives and needs of migrants.

In the context of the Restoring Family Links programme, the Algerian Red Crescent and the International Committee of Red Cross are working in collaboration with each other to conduct family tracing for Algerian citizens inside and outside of Algeria. This project aims to help people who have lost contact with their families in the following given situations: armed conflict or other situation of violence, natural or man-made disaster, migration, imprisonment in a place of detention under the responsibility of the Ministry of Justice of Algeria, or in other situations where humanitarian needs arise where possible.
